The Media Center
The Media Center empowers people to use television and the internet to create and distribute media that promotes and celebrates civic engagement, community development, cultural exchange, arts, and individual expression. Extending a bridge across the “digital divide”, the Media Center provides media production facilities, equipment, and training at nominal costs. The center has a strong focus on youth and schools and has collaborated on youth-oriented media projects with dozens of Bay Area organizations and schools. The Media Center is a 501(c)3 organization serving the cities of Atherton, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and Stanford, CA.
For Youth By Youth (FYBY)
FYBY is a leading organization in violence prevention and intervention in East Palo Alto. Frequently FYBY staffpersons are on the scene, speaking with families victimized by violence within hours of a tragedy. They mentor and support at-risk youth in East Palo Alto, drawing upon the world-renowned "Street Soldiers" methodology of San Francisco's Omega Boys Club.
