Douglas Fort
Doug Fort became a gangbanger at the tender age of 13. Today he speaks for the many friends who didn’t survive “the game” and are either dead or spending their lives in jail. He found a calling that helped him turn his life around and work for violence prevention and productive activities (including a basketball league) for youth.
Wow D.,this is some powerful stuff.I so see the spirit of our “forefathers”,including my late grandfather, inside of your community activism journey.Your stories of slanging d. really hit home for me because I too nearly got caught up in the game.It started with slanging some green and the only thing that kept me from graduating up to d. is that the ppl in the car didn’t want rock and that’s all I had.God has brought me from a mighty long way!Never even made my first d. sell. That was only by the grace of God!..I will definately pass this story on to others.God bless you and keep you always. One Love.
